An inspiration to all of us

Very often we postpone things that we can easily do at that particular moment. Very often we make lame excuses just because we are not in a "mood" to do it. Very often we underestimate ourselves. Very often we just don't try doing it.

You might be thinking why am I worrying over it. The reason behind it is that there is a small fest going on just on the ground floor of the building where I live and study. The fest is organized by the S.P.J. Sadhana School. Right from the papdi-chat that I ate there just now or the chuski that my friends ate or the chocolate moose that I tasted from a friend's cup, was all made by the students. From the bookmarks that I bought or the penstand or a small stitched pouch for my phone, everything was made by them. Apart from that there were saris, jwellery, other accesories-- all handmade by someone whom we in our common language term "mentally challenged".

If they can do so many things, how are they challenged? I would rather say that I am challenged that I at the age of 20, going on 21 next month, don't have half the abilities of what they have. Really, I mean, how much do we take ourselves granted for. There is no limit to it. Sometimes I think why do we do this with our ownselves when we would not like anyone take us for granted. We all would like to be acknowledged and appreciated. But this seems to be really difficult considering the fact that we don't acknowledge our ownselves.

Another source of inspiration these days for me is my one of my classmates who ia Visually Impaired-- Garima Goyal. And believe you me, she is one of the best, rather the best student in the class-- a medias class where every thursday we are supossed to watch a new film, analyse it and write answers about it in the exams. She clicks pictures and takes the maximum notes in the class on her laptop. When we went on a trip to Uttarakhand this November, she went for almost all the treks that were organised and went River Crossing too.

Now this is what you call determination and a longing to LIVE life. When you believe in Yourself, people will automatically come to your help. So when the children come up with a fest like this, you will surely go and get yourself something not only to help them but also to remind your ownself. Similarly, when there is a film screening, one of us sit beside Garima and describe her the visuals. It's very rightly said -- God helps them, who helps themselves.

Oh it's a long time...

This post is not meant to express something. This is being written to come back to the "blogging business" that I started some time back. Because of the kind of schedule I am having or may be I got too lazy to write, I just didn't write and I missed it, regretted it, and longed to come back to it! I read one of my friends blogs today and the love for writing in on here just got rekindled! Thanks to the friend.

Well...now let me tell you about the friend only. His name is Karteek Narumanchi (it is a different matter altogether that i got to know his last name only yesterday, being friends with him for the last six months now). It was shameful I am telling you.

How I became friends with him is something that might interest you coz it generally does when tell people that I met him on the train! And that we talked for about three to four hours on the train.

Now I really don't know how I do that but it's just that may be I meet the right kind of persons all the time.(touchwood!) My friends ask me, each time i talk to a friend over the phone, "Is he the one you met on train?" And many times my answer is "Yes!" Sometimes on the long train journeys, sometimes on local trains or sometimes on bus journeys.

Now I met this particular friend-- Karteek Narumanchi-- on my train journey from Cuttack to Hyderabad. (Now let me also tell you that he is not my first train friend , and that I had made a friend on a train earlier and that he proved to a really good choice). And when you find another good looking, 6"3' tall guy in front of you-- whoever you are you would think if you want to talk to him. But this time I let it be coz you can never be lucky twice so I just decided to let it go. (Coz I know once if I start I wouldn't just stop talking!) But I actually got second time lucky. He started the conversation and within no time we became friends and exchanged e mail ids. And I added to my list of friends another intelligent person

People find it a lot wierd when I tell them that I have two friends that I made on train journeys and one on the bus. They ask me several WEIRD questions like-- "How do you do it?", "Are you crazy?" And I tell them that I am not crazy, it's just that I love to talk to people and that I can stop smiling to a person who is even a little responsive. Smile is one language that is understood by all the people in the world, in spite of the religion they follow, the region they live in and the SEC class they belong to.

When you travel in a local train of Mumbai ( actually i would love to call it Bombay), that is crowded like anything at 5:00 pm in the evening, you don't need to plug in your iPods. I just need to sit and watch and observe people and the people, I tell you, are so interesting. They will tell you something random but worth listening to. This is the ultimate reality one can watch. And I think it is this obsevation and interaction that we need to have to understand people and become cosmoplolitan in it's true nature.

Electrifying Elections

Right now, nobody knows what will be the outcome of the 2009 General Elections. But one thing is clear for sure that these Elections would be remembered for the various disgraceful comments made by the top leaders of the country.
The irony lies in the word itself -- leader. Where are our country's leaders leading us? Towards communalism when the whole world is making attempts to exchange cultures, regionalism when our main concern should be to resolve the unresolved border issues with Pakistan and China, and "encouraging" us to take up arms against each other when we actually need to fight against poverty , unemployment and above all combat international terrrorism. Our leaders have forgotton the story that a bundle of sticks toghether could not be broken where as a single alone broke easily. They seem to return to the British philosophy of "Divide And Rule".
Okie....we live in a Hindu country nad we love our religion but are the Singers of "We-Love-Hinduism-More-Than-Anything" song so weak in their faith in the roots of their religion which forces them to make threatening other religions of the country.
Not just this-- so many "tickets" have been given to candidates who have legal cases pending against them. Doesn't really makes a difference to us if only two candidates were denied tickets and that too because of a number 9 Reebok shoe! Its like taking a cup out of the sea.
Again we have our leaders who have Politically Royal last names and people are so illiterate as to decipher a simple fact that their candidates are not really helping them grow. And actually nobody cares! Recently, a freind of mine suggested me that just being 18 yrs of age should not be taken as a criteria for voting rather school Pass Certificates and that too till +2 level should be made the criteria for Universal Adult Franchise of Voting. If you have the Certificate, you get your Voter ID Card too. Implement this and see how "passionately" our politicians work to get the whole country educated.
Amendments of this kind should be made to bring a change. Their should be educational qualification and an age of retirement set for the politicians too. But unfortunately who will hlp us make these changes because they would go against the very people who are in-charge of makng such laws. And above all Election Commission should be made an autonomous institution capable of making its own laws and implementing them. How can the Commission, regulated by laws made by politicians, work effectively to regulate the politicians themselves!! And most importantly, the number of political parties should be limited. Ever heard of Too many cooks, spoil the broth??

Blasts And Babus

Gone are the days when "terror-attacks" used to create 'terror'. Today they create 'anger'....anger against a hollow security system and "an-educated-but-unintelligent" group of leaders who are playing "Vote do- Vote do" games over the victims of such serial attacks.

And why not? The total figures of all the blasts this year are literally screaming over top of "blasts' noises". In the last six months, there have been 58 blasts, killing around250 people and leaving around 660 injured(may be, some with life long disabilities) across 9 cities. This plus the recent 'hijacking of the 3 most prestigious 5-star hotels of the country.

The terrorists have set an example for our leaders to follow. Now, don't you have a "What the hell are you saying?" kind of an expression on your face. Of course, they have. They are not choosing places to blast according to region or religion. They are just doing it. And doing it everywhere - be it metros like Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore or developing cities like Jaipur,Ahmedabad,Kanpur or small places like Modassa,Malegaon,Imphal and Guwahati. See the North-East is not neglected by the terrorists at least. They do their work honestly- irrespective of cast, color, religion, sex, or financial status!! Thank God! In a corrupted country like India, at least somebody's honest and sincere.
Now lets move to the spotlight to the Babus of our nation- Sardarji, Patil Babu, Advani Babu, and not to forget Sonia Bhabhiji. Better late than never-- Patul Babu has resigned. God Bless him! But Sardarji and Bhabhiji are still consoling the nation "on the camera". Off the camera, there's nobody like Big Boss watching them. And while the duo are busy finding excuses and saving face over this "terro-resulting-in-anger" thing, its a golden opportunity for "our very own Hindu" Advani Babu to impress and cajole the people to vote them so that they can reimplement POTA-kota, and punish all the "muslim" terrorists.
But, keeping in view, the present situation, it doesn't matter who is the Babu of Babus at the PM's residence, coz the terrorists are acting smart enough to fool all of them. The "hijacking" of hotels have proved it and shown the people in the backseats of Mercedes that they are not safer than the passengers ofthe local trains. For a quick and full-proof action over the issue, I request Obama....oops...Osama Bin Laden and his brothers of different terror groups to plan a serial blast over these Babus irrespective of the political parties they belong to!!Plzzz......

HE is.....

He is the first reddening of my cheeks. He is the freshness of my face. He is my speeding heartbeat. He is a twist in my stomach. He is the cold at the back of my neck. He is a tremble in my legs.
He is the name that's always on my lips.He is the face in all other boys i meet. He is a wish that i wish every morning. He is a thought that haunts me all day long. He is the lullaby that puts me to sleep. He is the dream i see every night.
He is my company when i am alone. He is the memory that turns me on. If his missed call is a smile on my face, his SMS is a bigger one. His phone-call is a strong hot coffee on a winter night. His voice is a remote that mutes all other sounds.
He is the kaajal that i wear. He is the shine in my open hair. He is a melodious song in my ear. He is the 'change' i ,now, appear. He is the taste developing in me. He is a new passion in my life. He is the glasses that has beautified my world. He is the patience, coz of which i am still holding on.
He is also the first tear in my eyes. He is the pain in my heart. He is the false hope that i cherish. He is,at times, the anger i can't bear. He is a joke that makes me cry. He is the betrayal to which i am still loyal.
He is a lesson in my life, half-learnt. He is a dilemma, i cannot come out of. He is the afterglow, i am living in. He is the transformation in me. He is Immortal in me. He is "Only He".
HE IS MY FIRST LOVE.....
